July – August 2011, then again the year after
From Nürnberg, I stayed in Munich for 4 days. My first day trip was out to Dachau for about half the day. Munich has shown me the wealthier side of Germany, with the cost of living to be much higher than the rest. Oktoberfest is held here, with beer tents set up months in advance in preparation for this huge festival. I returned a year later to experience this for myself, and had quite a bit of fun. Comfort food here is the best, and I definitely scouted for German markets when I returned back to the U.S. to remake what I craved.
The Hauptbahnhof (main station) of Munich

Sausage and cookie store (cookies are mainly for your significant other or someone you love dearly)

Chinesischer Turm (Chinese Tower)

Next to the Chinesischer Turm, people are able to relax on benches

The Bavarians are known for their light beers

Salted pretzels are a staple food with their sausage and beer

Gotta have me a Guinness

My favorite mustard (sweet), and I don’t even like mustard.

Favorite sausages in the world – you have to peel the “skin” to consume it

Olympiaturm (Olympic Tower)

Entrance to Olympiapark

Olympiasee in Olympiapark

BMW Headquarters – Never would I have thought I’d work for BMW back in the states

The competitor (enemy, jk)

My other favorite, Leberkäse (translated to liver cheese, but definitely just meat of some sort)

Leberkäse mit Süßer Senf
